I'm not sure when it came online because I only stumbled over it channel surfing. It's only Dolby digital but there seems to be more frequent use of HD cameras which makes the video stunning. I'll be perusing this channel because of the potential candidates for Blu-ray music videos with lossless/uncompressed audio tracks.
Follow Ups:
Do you mean Rave HD? I have that on cable - part of the Voom package - a set of channels that have specialized all hi-def programming. Rave HD is a neat concept - 24/7 Hi-def, Dolby surround sound live music channel. Mostly rock and pop music though. Although one of their featured programs is "Live from the Montreux Jazz Festival", there don't seem to be any jazz artists! Also, because it;s on cable, it's only 1080i, and the difference between that and blu-ray is noticeable.
Since I only have a 720p FP, broadcast is often as good or better than Blu-ray 720p/1080i depending on source material. But I'll take Blu-ray's lossless/uncompressed audio over DD/DTS any day of the week.
I'll rectify the "display defect" eventually....
