Sharp is so proud of their Kameyama LCD factory that they've created a special website devoted to it (link below). They also seem to be the only firm offering 32" and 37" sets with 1080p resolution. Final assembly of my TV was in Mexico.

The world’s largest*4 superconducting magnetic energy storage systemThis system counters sudden drops in voltage (line-drops) that result from lightning strikes and other natural phenomena. As the temperature of the superconducting coil is cooled to −269Co, the electric resistance of the coil approaches zero, allowing electrical energy to be converted into magnetic energy and stored.
The 10,000-kW superconducting magnetic energy storage system installed at the Kameyama Plant can generate high voltage in an instant and counter the effects of line-drops.Superconductor used just to be a power filter. They aren't screwing around.
