online auction for less than 2/3 cost of new while at the store which was about 1/2 of retail when first introduced. IOW's I got the 60 inch plasma for $2k. It is a PDP 6070HD which is no longer made. And with the auction, all sales are final. Plus they have no more in stock.
You roll the dice and you take your chances. The best price I found online for this was $3300, and that from an unauthorized dealer. At least I got a warranty with this one.
That being said, how would you go about getting a new one?

...Or have you just bought a superseded plasma screen with a warranty card?
I wouldn’t buy a plasma from an auction house. I’d only buy from an authorised dealer.
If a screen malfunctioned in the first 2 or 3 days I’d expect, and get, it to be replaced ASAP.
I am in Australia so I don’t know what recourse is open to you. Probably you have to rely on the service agent to diagnose the fault and fix it.
Good luck.
