In Reply to: RE: My SONY KV-34XBR910 is failing. Repair or replace? posted by GTF on June 03, 2008 at 18:11:59
Hi there
The other posts seem to be voting "replace".
What is the failure symptom?
My 27XBR15 is going on 20 years after 2 DIY repairs (low voltage supply). The UHF tuner is now intermittent, so a DTV converter box is going to bypass that problem.
Regards
Follow Ups:
Their are some chips on the "D" board that go bad.
I might try replacing them myself.
It's $300 for someone to come over and repair the board or I could exchange it with SONY for about the same amount.
Or I could throw it in the garbage and buy a Plasma.
Decisions, decisions.
