and the price at B&H photo-video just dropped $20 to $1230- (was $1250 for weeks).
As Uncle Stu mentioned earlier, August-September is the bargain hunting time. But I wouldn't wait much longer than another week or three...
Follow Ups:
I just bought a 32xbr6 for one of my rooms from Abes of maine for $964 w/ free low profile wall mount. I'm thinking about ordering a z4100 for $2032 from them. They sent the 32 xbr6 packaged very well (box with in a box w/ tons of peanut foam). The shipping was quick and the price was the best I could find on both TV's. But , now the new models are out from Sony and Sammy so i dont know what to do. I want a 46" tv. The XBR 8 is $5k (all the new models are on Sony's site now. The 46 XBR6 is $3k on Sony's site anyway. Dont know if it will be worth the extrra $ to step up from the Z model to the XBR6. Have to look around now. Sammy just came out with their LNA950 which has the different internals and is getting really high reviews.
Hi:
If we wait long enough, we'll see the XBR 129. Upgrades are the lifeblood of this and the software business.
Having said that, IMO, the longer one waits in the consumer television market, the better. Eventually, we'll see OLED 40s at sub $1k.
