Chrisc, without getting into too much tech-talk, you are out of luck with the splitter idea: HDMI has HDCP built in, which prevents this splitting being successful. (copy protection). A solution is possible.

First, are you planning to use external speakers (like a typical 5.1 surround sound package) for either of the tv's?

Let's assume the living room has the surround sound setup: What I would do is hook up component-video cables to the sat. receiver's component-video out , and also either a coax or optical cable out of the sat. receiver into the Denon, and then component video out from the Denon into the living room tv. If the video does not look great, and if the tv supports the connection, then connect the component video cables directly to the living room tv.

Connect speaker cables to the denon, path them to the speakers, do the configuration tweaking and away you go.

For the bedroom tv, run HDMI cable out of the sat receiver into the bedroom tv (no Denon in the path). Use the built-in speakers in the bedroom tv. Done.

This should work.
