You need to add a pre-2008 VCR with an RF cable input and analog tuner, and route the cable to that and then out to your TV. You might also want an A-B cable splitter switch. That way you can use your RF modulator for the DVD and the switch controls the input to the TV from the VCR or DVD. From the RCA audio out's on the VCR go into your Sony box. I presume the Sony box has two or more sets of RCA type audio inputs. Use the second set of RCA inputs for the audio out directly from the DVD. The Sony box will thus drive sound from the VCR, the TV, or the DVD to your in wall speakers depending on the setting on the VCR and the Sony box, and you should be able to switch the sony box to determine which sound comes out of the in-wallspeakers.
The key to your problem is the VCR with the analog tuner, which, unfortunately are not sold new in the US any more. But ebay should have a good selection. No one seems to sell boxes that do what every VCR with an analog tuner does.
