further down the page I asked if my Monster HDMI 1.1 would be ok with my new Panasonic BD55k player I was getting, or if I needed a 1.3.
I also have the 50" Panasonic plasma, so I hooked it all up a week ago with the same 1.1 cable.
Well everything seems to work fine, even the PITA Viera Link which I soon disabled. However, the picture is not much better than a regular DVD played on my older Denon 2910. Very disapointing.
I do not think the cable is the fault however, I think I need a 1080p TV to really see a big improvement. Maybe a LCD would even be better. The 1080i just dosen't do it.
So if your plasma is not 1080p, I would not worry too much about the cables. I wish I am wrong, but I don't think so.
Allan.
Follow Ups:
Allan, good point. My Panasonic is 1080P. I ordered 1.3b cable for the heck of it, but honestly I am not expecting any major improvements there,
