Am in NYC and just switched over TV and internet from Time Warner to FiOS based on the tremendous buzz around it. What a let down!
Picture quality on the HD channels are a fair bit worse - the colors are not as rich as with Time Warner, the contrast falls short and there are a ton of motion artifacts.
Ok, so not all of it is bad. The internet is noticeably faster on the computer with a direct connection - I'm pulling 20mpbs download/20mbps upload. But my computer that's set up wirelessly pulls half that with inconsistency.
Fortunately Verizon's customer service has been excellent and they will be back in to try to optimize the picture quality and wireless internet.
Has anyone else had the same experience? Think the motion artifacts may have something to do with the Motorola box vs the Scientific Atlanta that I was using with TW?
Follow Ups:
I have Verizon bundled installed and I like it. HD Tv, of course, can't compared to Bluray, but it's decent on my Pioneer plasma. For internet, i have 20/5. Wireless is always slower than wired connection, but measuring half of the actual speed is strange. How many wireless devices are you running in the house at the same time? It may cause the problem too.
