Look at sites like readyacoustics.com. Have you measured your room either with a RTA or a SPL with a test disc?

No measurements yet, but I have listened and done the clap test. I have to use 5 Ohm resistors in my ribbon tweeters now to tame the highs.
rivesaudio.com makes a test CD (I think for $21) that is made to work with the Radio Shack analog SPL meter. The reason I noted measurements is that once you have a better idea as to where the problem frequencies are (from the listening position) after measurement you can make a plan to treat them. If for example you have a problem around 125 HZ then something like a 2x4 ft. barrel shaped diffuser from acousticsfirst.com might be of help (or you can make your own). If the problem is 63 Hz then a 3x6 ft. barrel shaped diffuser might help.
