I am still watching DVDs with a Sony 5-disc changer on an ancient Sears LXI TV. I would love to get my feet wet in the good video pool but don't have the $$$ to try out some options.

I here ya.I have no blu ray discs either.I post at the dvd audio thread.I use to collect the discs.someone posted about a panasonic blu ray player that plays dvd audio.the player is no longer made.found it at ebay for $160.00 regular retail new was over $1000.my tv is a regular 480 line sony.I wont replace it until it quits working.I will buy some used blu rays but cant watch it in hi def.but thats ok.I read that the vcr part on the blu ray upscales the tapes.
