In Reply to: RE: Need to finalize a DVD-R from a Sony recorder... posted by Steven Parry on October 01, 2009 at 08:50:19
I may be wrong, but at best you'll have to find another Sony recorder, perhaps the same model or close to it. My Pioneer recorder states in the manual that discs must be finalized in the machine they are recorded on.
Follow Ups:
How about a professional machine that will read a disc that has not been finalized? Copy it to another blank and finalize that one. Is that possible? If so, any professional studio could probably do it.

If you have not finalized it yet.you can send it to me.I only have a panasonic but it will make picture menus.email me if you and I will do it for free.Ive recorded 100s of discs not all will finalize.the ones that dont will play in another panasonic dvd player & I will record it again and finalize it.I need more info on the disc is half finalized.on mine if the pictures are not in the finalizing it will stop.I need to erase the ones with no pictures.sorry I dont know how the sony works.if it was unplugged disc taken out the chances of finalizing it is slim.
