I, a total beginner, got a Krell HTS 5.1 from my uncle. I don't even know if it needs power amp to produce sound. I will mainly listen to 2 channel stereo, but sometimes multi channel movie too.
Please let me know what I need. I want to listen to FM radio seriously too.
Do I need a 2channel receiver? or a multi channel AV receiver?
I think I can spend about $300 at this moment. If you can recommend a good used unit that can fulfill all my needs, I would appreciate.
Thank you very much in advance.
Paul

Hiya,
That Krell is a preamp/surround processor so you will need a separate power amplifier.
It's also an old (and very obsolete) model so you'd be best to sell it (probably worth between $600-900) and buy a more recent AVR.
Look towards the more audio orientated companies like Rotel, Marantz, NAD et al for AVRs that do a good job with music and movies.
