OK. Thanks, Johan.
Here in the USA I usually buy from Amazon. I don't buy the new blockbuster films; I usually buy catalogue titles. Anyway, I usually spend between $10-20. Lately, I bought La Femme Nikita ($10.99) and An American in Paris ($14.99). I also bought South Pacific for $12.99 from Costco (big-box chain).
Anyway, I don't see BDs as being any more expensive than DVDs were at this stage of their life. And, don't forget that you get more w/ a BD, so I think it's correct that they cost more than DVDs.
I have to admit that Paramount's price of $27.49 (or rather, Amazon's discounted price) for The African Queen is a bit steep, especially because it doesn't have lossless audio.
Best,
Doug

Hi Doug,
We in Europe have the disadvantage of many different subtitles for region code 2, which makes DVD’s more expensive. DVD’s for only the UK market are a bit cheaper due to the English language for subtitles. Also the 19% sale tax and up in continental Western Europe is not helping us.
