I need a television for my bedroom to be wall mounted and around 40" and I would appreciate some recommendations. Can I get a wall mounting where the height of the TV can be adjusted because different heights would be optimal when I am lying in bed or sitting? Thank You.

Yes - there are numerous types of wall mounts. There are those that are close to the wall that allow the angle up or down a bit. There are motorized ones (obviously more $). There are also those that swivel out from the ball and can be angled up or down a bit (my 55 inch bedroom TV is in link and is on one of these). Before the current TV, I had a 42 inch on its stand and I angled it down ever so slightly (probably no more than a couple of degrees) with cheap rubber-like bumpers and it was fine as well. With most every kind of TV there's a sweet spot (some are bigger than others) and viewing angles. As long as you're within that area, you're fine. My current bedroom TV is only angled down slightly as can be seen in the photo
I would recommend a Panasonic 42" plasma. No need to adjust the angle, will look great from both angles.
