If they weren't scared shitless of netflix then they were totally brain dead.
As for now, I just hope Blockbuster by mail stays in business. At a reasonable price and with good service they have all the blu-rays that Netflix is TOO DAMN CHEAP to stock.
I have 24 blu-rays in my Blockbuster queue that are only available at Netflix on dvd.

Follow Ups:
I wish I had experienced the same good service from Blockbuster's rent-by-mail division.
To my house near Orlando, Florida, it initially took 3-4 days roundtrip to receive a new DVD. About two months after joining, it took 7-10 days. After several weeks of aggravation--communication with Blockbuster did not help--I switched to Netflix, which takes two days, every time.
It took about a week to get my first disc. After that they are 1-2 days every time.
If BB online goes away I'm stuck with no where to rent blu-rays. It sucks. The industry keeps complaining about people not buying dvd's anymore. Well, duh. They should just stop making dvd's and switch to blu-rays.
VHS didn't last long once dvd came out.
