Shawn is a good guy and I would trust him. Note, however, that using the analog inputs on the DC-1 means that all the decoding for the HD-CODECS, as well as DVD-A and SACD, must be accomplished in the player/source.

Shawn knows what he's doing. And take note of what Kal said: all decoding and multichannel analog output must come from the Blu-ray player. Your Lexicon will just provide gain for the signal.
Thanks for responding gents. I know the Lex DC-1 does not decode SACD, DVD-A, or HD-CODECS, as it's a 1990's vintage pre-pro, albeit an excellent one in my opinion, as I have been using it without a glich since it was introduced, and it still sounds fantastic for DD and DTS. At a couple of hundred bucks used, it's an awfully good bargain. I do not want to part with it in order to gain access to HD, so Shawn's upgrade sounds like a great solution. My players will do the conversions, so we'll see how they sound! I run two channel music through a CJ 17LSII and use the 2 channel bypass for movies from the Lex. Thanks again for the support.
