I downloaded the update for my player and it's a firmware file ending with the suffix ".frm." I would like to transfer the file to a CD-ROM, however I can't figure out how to open the file and then transfer it. Any help would be appreciated.

It might help others if you mentioned your player model.
I guess ".frm" means firmware file, and usually manufacturers tell you exactly how to use them. Often they have different files to download depending if you're updating via a stick or a disc, for convenience. You do not necessarily have to "open" a file to put it on a CD, you just have to burn the file to an iso format CD like any other data file, and then presumably the player's firmware would know to look for a .frm file.
