Hi all -- usually posting on the Maggie forum ... So this is my Q. Can a lighting storm mess-up the picture quality (w/o messing with the channels and all other functions) with a DirecTV HD-DVR? (DirecTV HD 23 DVR.) The picture is all purple. It's fuzzy as well. The other HD receiver/flat screen in another room is fine. This room also has a Panasonic HD projector and that as well is displaying a purple tint to all channels. My fear is that the lightning storm did some damage (only) to the HD-23 DirecTV receiver in my HT rooom. This receiver is getting it's ac from a Panamax AC regenerator.. (model 5500) so I would have assumed that it was somewhat protected. The Panamax is working just fine. The 2 channel audio system (into the same ac lines) is working w/o any problems. Thoughts? I did spend 1hr with DirecTV on the phone, and all they could suggest after running a bunch of tests, is to have a tech dude stop out NEXT FRIDAY.........
