Probably a failure in the warranty chip. A new warranty chip can be purchased at any convenient Samsung dealer. The good thing is the new chips are better than the old ones, and cost less too.
Sorry to hear about it though. I do vaguely recall some issues with sets (not just Samsung) built not that many years ago having solder issues. The new lead-free soldering techniques were not perfected yet, leading to sometimes odd-looking partial failure modes, especially when the weather got hot or humid. Might be that...not that knowing it makes it necessarily more fixable or practical to.

Makes sense to me, as soon as the warranty expires, you got to buy a new set!
