Reading my reply, seems like cheap, smooth voicing, 5.1 would be the main things I'm looking for.

Another thing that occurs to me is...

As I am looking at using the receiver for OTA (optical digital from the TV) and HDMI from my Blu-Ray player... wouldn't these different sources have different audio/video sunc timings? If so then the receiver would need to support that. I haven't heard of anything like that in the manuals I've been reading.

Since there are varying sync timing issues, depending on the source, different delay settings should be available for each source. A universal delay setting would be no better than having no delay capabilities in the first place. Of course, I'm just being logical -- check with the manufacturer to be sure.
