I guess from this the Anthem D2 is about 3 years old?

Perhaps it has HDMI version 1.2? Not sure. I remember reading in around that time or a bit before about people complaining more (or at least it seemed that way to me) about handshakes.
I didn't get an HDMI processor until a bit under a year ago (bought a used one with HDMI 1.3 which I use in the main system with a modded Oppo BDP-83 - have a BDP-93 is the secondary bedroom system on the other side of the wall to the main system and did briefly try it with no issue - the systems are somewhat interconnected with the HDMI outs to each main and bedroom going to each other although I have not done much with it - I tried the BDP-93 before I stuck it in the bedroom).
Follow Ups:
I'm pretty sure you are correct. It is HDMI v1.2x. 1.3 was not an option. So handshake issues are a known problem w/ 1.2x? This may explain a lot.
