I ordered a Panasonic 50" plasma from Amazon in November 2010. I called the shipping company and had them deliver the unit when I was able to be at home. They were very easy to work with and even carried it upstairs and checked to make sure there was no damage. Very satisfied.
Tubes and vinyl are preferred.
Cheers, Jeff

Ditto.
I've had 2 panels delivered. In BOTH cases the delivery guys insisted on making sure it was in one piece before leaving. The new boxes are 'easy open' / 'easy close' so the inspection doesn't even damage the box.
I, too, have a 50" panny plasma. Good Stuff, but a trifle warm running. Keeps my heating bill down in winter and AC bill UP in summer.
Too much is never enough
I had no issues with delivery to my door. 50" can be carried by 2 people.
