We recently retired our 19" 1984 Hitachi that the Mrs and I got when we first got married. Never had a problem with it. Still worked fine but the digital tuner thing and moving made us feel like it was time to separate. It got recycled.
I wish they made stuff like that today. The crap flat panel set that replaced it looks good but you can tell it will be dead in 5 years. Nothing is meant to last anymore.
Follow Ups:
All recycled, but to what degree? BTW, I couldn't sell or even give the TV away. Had it up for $10 OBO. Off to the recycler it went.
