I do still prefer the Plasma sets for their natural look, but they have a relatively short life and they are heavy. My 60" Pioneer took two guys to hang. The LCDs are easier to hang and are reputed to last a very long time. If you intend to repeat your 19 year attachment I recommend buying a great closeout deal on last year's LCD from any of the top brands that you like the looks of. There are few secrets in this industry and a lot of shared internals. No sense to spend full retail for this year's model when the new shine is only 1/19th of the total experience. Flat screens go out of date as fast as a PC but they last longer.

Where did you get this info from? Our 5 year old Panasonic plasma has been great, no problems, and it is used a lot. I haven't heard of any problems from anyone. So far, they seem to last as long as any LCD type.
