My experience as well. I've never seen and LCD that matched the performance of plasma.

"screen burn-in, buzz, lack of brightness"

I don't see any of these as issues with my three Panasonic Viera plasmas.

Agreed as to the plasma, regarding "Soap Opera" effect on LCD - Road Warrior 06:34:27 08/13/12 (0)
Our Sony, NX800(?), has several settings, some of which do induce a soap opera effect. We found one that doesn't and has no jittery motion artifacts. Still, I much prefer the Panny Plasma (and it's a low end model). Overall picture quality, especially fleshtones, is less artificial.
