Our Sony, NX800(?), has several settings, some of which do induce a soap opera effect. We found one that doesn't and has no jittery motion artifacts. Still, I much prefer the Panny Plasma (and it's a low end model). Overall picture quality, especially fleshtones, is less artificial.
