JVC RS40 fading -- but it's not the bulb!

New bulb, same problem. It takes half an hour to reach acceptability, and even then I don't think it's up to snuff. Anyone?

I have a RS40U hanging in my theater/listening room and it delivers a gorgeous picture. How old is your projector? You might try another lamp as JVC has had 3-4 revisions of lamps since the projector was introduced.
