Marantz nr 1402 set up issues

Hi, Just picked up a NR 1402 for an upstairs bedroom system and am a little baffled by a couple issues I can't seem to find in the 99 page owner's manual .

1.) I would like my Sony Bravia TV to play with the receiver in standby but I get no signal to the TV (works fine with receiver on). My path is - Cable box HDMI out>NR 1402 HDMI3 in >NR1402 HDMI out > TV HDMI in. I must have a setting wrong somewhere but can't figure it out.

2.) I have the HDMI control set to off, and the output set to TV so I get sound from the TV as my default. Is there a shortcut to change the output to the HDMI or do I always have to access the setting s to change from TV sound to Receiver sound? Seems kind of complex for such a basic function.

ive tried component out on a dvd player with an onkyo rec that does pass thru video.. same player has hdmi to a denon rec. I get no sound or picture thru pass thru. I have a sony bravia too if you have 2 video outputs plug one to the tv. it would be nice to do it your way. I looked at my menu too to see if I can get something to work on the denon for pass thru.. no luck
