What you should do is call your satelite provider and upgrade your service to a new DVR. If not willing to do that just go to Craigslist and get a free standard TV some one is giving away. Here's why, your current box is giving you 480i resolution, you can buy a TV with 4k resolution but you will still see only 480i, well, let me correct myself a bit, a new TV will upsample to it's native resolution but it will still be a far cry from a true HD signal. A new DVR will provide High Definition video of 720p (p=Progressive Scan, a solid picture, no interlace) or 1080i, depending on the network, some satelite services like Dish claim 1080p from certain Pay Per View channels. A Blu-Ray will provide 1080p.

To answer your actual question, I'm sure your satelite receiver has at least a composite, single RCA video, many new TV's still offer a composite input. My Toshiba LED did but you have to use RCA to mini adaptor provided.
