HDMI connections tend to be flimsy crap. I hate it. My wife's cat knocked one of mine out a couple of times. The best you can do is make sure your cable has a good connector on it.

My Monster HDMI has an adaptor that lets the cable hang downward, - oldmkvi 20:33:37 06/16/13 (1)
at 90 degrees, works well, lets it relax.
If I get the flashes, I'll know what to do!

  They aren't expensive, but a definite step up from the freebies and such, and they have solid connectors on them. This is why I always preferred DVI connections.
