Part of it; I want to watch what I enjoy, not what has 7.1 content (which is still minimal to this day). And even with 7.1 content, unless your room is massive (mine is 17 x 24, reasonable), I think it's pretty much pointless.
If I had more time I'd probably rip down the 2 extra speakers and clean up the paint where they were.
