Personally, I gave up on Kodi and Google for video apps. My first thought would be to go into the apps and uninstall the Youtube app. Then, add it back into the box. I have a similar problem with my Android TV. Plex worked fine, then suddenly, it won't read video files from the top, but it works if you drill into the series and select a specific file.
I've still got several of the old Google Nexus players that are used all the time for Youtube and Netflix, but I've moved on to Roku players and Plex instead of using Kodi. It's far more stable and just works better.

Hi Rod, thanks a lot for the info. The switch was made today to a Amazon Firestick given to me by my brother. My Kodi box was 4 years old and as I am typing this I'm going to try to put my wireless modem higher in the air.It was switched around a bit when my brother worked on my computer. He checked signal strength on both TVs and my bedroom TV down the hall from the modem showed a weak signal. I have elevated the modem to where it used to be and maybe a little higher. In a moment the results of the trial.....I stole that from Dragnet 1968.....thanks Rod.....Mark.
