rico,I have always loved the very atmospheric quality of this one. I've seen the restored version with the series of stills. While I enjoyed knowing what had been missing, in a an academic way, I would enjoy being able to normally be able to skip over that technique for continuity. I imagine the DVD can do that
For some reason, I associate "Lost Horizon" as a kind of early Americanized Kurosawa- perhaps the timbre, environment, and excellent photography.
Contrast this to the later depiction of discovering a lost civilisation- Gene Kelly's "Brigadoon".
