Check out the reviews at audioreview.comI just picked this set up a week ago after doing extensive research on HDTV ready, digital rear projection units, and this one came out the clear winner in terms of features, picture quality with various sources, and maintenance record. PLEASE do yourself the favor of reading those reviews on the Sony. You will see that several Hitachi's and some other makes have had massive recalls. The Sony can be had for about $2400 if you look around a bit, and there are some retailers that let you pay interest free for up to a year on the purchase. Incidentally, my budget was $1500-2K, but when I saw the Sony, and just how incredible it really is, I had to go the extra few hundred. Hope this advice helps a bit.
