I recently used speaker cable to wire a set of on-wall speakers in one room and a set of in-ceiling speakers in another room. I connected a receiver with 2 zones and found I would get intermittent hum, in one speaker in each room. This occurred whether both pairs were running or only one pair. The static is only on the right speaker in both rooms. The speakers are fine.
Assuming it was the receiver, I switched it out for another 2-zone receiver. The receiver is on a stable platform, and the house is on one level, so nothing creates vibration in the crawl space where the wires run.
Does anyone have any suggestions for solving the problem? Thank you. Alan
