A well-crafted film that shines with its casting, script, and locations. This version stars Claes Bang and Lily McInery as the father-daughter that must must adapt and move forward. Bang's sophisticated manner and wisdom are a pleasure, while McInery's daughter handily portrays the range of an emotionally maturing young woman overcoming conflict.

    Film production companies bank on people not seeing the original films so there is no point of reference for comparison.
    
    I'm all for remakes of films that for one reason or another were compromised or flawed. Unfortunately it seems to be almost 180 degrees from that most of the time.
