This is a beautifully filmed piece lush with colors of the French countryside and perfectly set interiors illustrating the later life of Renoir, his last muse, and his son, Jean. Renoir struggles to paint while suffering from often unbearable rheumatoid arthritis. His son returns wounded from the front (1915) and begins an infatuation with his latest model, Andree, who wants to become an American actress. This relationship pushed Jean into film after the war. Well done, atmospheric.

Cool, i was un aware of the film, will keep on the look out for the film. I might have skipped it otherwise, most films i have seen about famous painters didn't cut it for me.

Every film from the son that I have seen has been top notch, just in case you don't read critics.
