This opened with a Roman amphibious assault on a walled city. The AI was nice, as everything looked real. The same was true for the exterior shots of Rome. The film's first half was mostly "historical" with all the exteriors and gladiator tussles. Then as the plot develops, Denzel arises and chews up all the scenery wherever he goes. That guy only gets better and better. His character was a crafty and eccentric villain who mugged and pranced his way through to the end. For me, he was the movie. Not a bad diversion. |
I couldn't convince my daughter or friend to go see it, so I preordered the 4K steelbook NT, posted on November 28, 2024 at 13:32:22 | |

But to this day, my favorite gladiator movie is still "Jason and the Argonauts". View YouTube Video |
