Ten wonderful American films that no one has seen.....

12.83.76.238

A short list, off the top of my head, of 10 wonderful, meaningful, thought-provoking and entertaining films that no one I know has ever seen........

1. Adam at Six A.M. - Michael Douglas in one of his very earliest and IMO best performances.

2. Payday - Rip Torn out of control as drug-addled country singer/songwriter

3. Fat City - Stacey Keach as down-n-out boxer, two different endings were filmed and released

4. A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch - one very good day in the gulag

5. The New Age - Peter Weller and Judy Davis play materialistic yuppies who get a collect call from reality

6. Sometime a Great Notion - Paul Newman and Henry Fonda star in this adaptation of Ken Kesey's novel

7. Dawn Patrol - David Niven, Errol Flynn and Basil Rathbone are WWI pilots on hopeless missions

8. The Billion Dollar Brain - Michael Caine's third go-round as Harry Palmer, insanely directed by Ken Russel

9. The Quare Fellow - Patrick McGoohan plays a prison guard in this quirky and unpredictable film

10. The Luck of Ginger Coffey - Robert Shaw is out of work and out of luck in this terse drama
