Yes I have bought used DVD's for $7.99-$9.99 (they often run $2 off any DVD sales on weekends, hence you get the $9.99 for $7.99), you can always return them if they are damaged etc. You don't have to previously rent them, however, at least not at my local Blockbusters. I find it a good way to buy movies, at least popular ones that I care to own. More obscure titles I still have to order for full price.
