I saw it for the second time last week...Infinitely better the second time around (got all the nitpicking plot change bantor out of the way the first time). I guess it's a testament to the greatness of the book that I would be defensive about "professor" Tolkien's exact words.
The second time I was able to enjoy the movie "as a movie", as an art form in itself, not merely as an adaptation of a book. Just sucks that I had to spend an extra $8 to enjoy it.
