Some additional comments

The Lucia apparently has at least two versions - I got the "Unrated Spanish" one, I presume it is fuller, more as the director envisined it, before the pruddish Yankies used their knife on it. It does have the subs.

It is not an easy movie to watch. The sex scenes are quite graphic and can become distracting, blocking the view so to speak. Some people (even experienced movie buffs) will be quick to dismiss is for that reason. So it makes sense to be prepared.

Most of the erotic stuff happens early in the film, however, before it really gains the momentum and the mood sets in.

Being erotic without crossing the line into cheap porn is hard, many have tried that and failed, and here I think we have a success story.

Would it be even better if the scenes were less graphic? Perhaps. The film has other minor faults too - like the heroine's cry near the end - I think that was one of the few moments when the director lost his grip, but all in all great film.

The lead actress Paz Vega also played in Talk to Her, together with Javier Cámara, who shined in Talk to Her. Here his role is secondary.

The score by Alberto Iglesias seems more appropriate here than his work in Talk to Her, it is less intrusive and more subtle.
