Home Films/DVD Asylum

Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

Yeah, it's a decidedly mixed bag.

I found it to be pretty good in places, especially the Cylon female-humanoid protagonist, but obviously there was too much of a temptation to do the bone-headed "old home week" homage to the former series. The card game/fight scene looked goofy and a bit jaring (i.e., the over-the-hill officer blowing his stack at the cigar-chomping blond just didn't cut the mustard for suspension of disbelief). I had no problem with a woman being the lead fighter pilot, but why reprise the Starbuck role? Her rendering was too cafe` latte anyway! ;^)

I'll probably watch the second part, but so far I'd only give it a B- based on too many missed opportunities.
