The fact that Mr. Alda felt that his support of the Amendment had a great deal to do with his popularity during the run of M*A*S*H was simply his belief. Why did Mike choose to make an issue out of it, demeaning the actor for responding honestly to a question asked during an interview? His response had nothing to do with the actor or his talent, but rather Mike's own political perspective. How does that fit in with a discussion of the arts?
