They get little recognition for their input in Enigma code breaking and for extracting and smuggling the machine over to allies.
Some Polish historians begin to question expediency of Polish resistance movements during WWII in breaking German supply lines to Russian front. It had caused immense suffering and repressions of Polish cities and villages and at the end it only strengthened Soviets and resulted in occupation of Poland for next 40 years.
Because USA didn't really suffer much during WWII and acquired it's empire almost cost free.( Some say it's arguably the cheapest and easiest acquirement of imperial status in a history of empires ) war isn't present in the psyche of the nation. In Poland (and Russia ) it is still a hotly debated subject.
