As I said in my post, civilized people can argue over these things and probably never completely agree on anything. That is normal.
However, fundamentally I don't see any difference beetween then A-bomb, high explosives, machine guns and flame throwers. Our moral superstructure that we build using some of these weapons as foundations, simply reflects our present-day thinking and our search for truth, where there is never any final "right" answer.
So you are forever going to have the dilemas: Is it OK to shoot at the parachuting enemy pilot?
