Okay, my copy landed today. No, you saw it all the other 43 min is the "making of" program... looks to be based on a novel and will probably have sequals. Well, they did tone down the CGI a bit... better than most but I'm still not real fond of the starkness of CGI in contrast with the 2d (hey, I know the computer freaks love to show off what they can do, but the result is just too perfect and sterile at the same time... sort of like if the Mona Lisa's face had been painted on a photograph instead of being done entirely in oil). Serial Experiment Lain (4 dvd set) is quite stark in places but in an entirely different way that blends with the other visual elements (but isn't 3d CGI either). There were a lot of gorgeous scenes and I liked it overall, but the way they drew people's lips drove me nuts.
