Les Lunes al sol (Mondays in the Sun)...

...is the Spanish film by Fernando León de Aranoa, about a bunch of unemployed former shipyard workers.

In some sense it continues the theme of Man Without a Past - of simple people thrown into difficult circumstances and their coping with it.

Inspite of being depressing, the film is uplifting, probably due to its soft treatment and obvious humanistic underlining.

Several very good performances - most notably by Javier Bardem, and... perhaps the second award should go to Nieve de Medina - she is remarkable.

I am sure some would find it boring - more guys sitting at the bar, not saying much at all. Such is often the truth - most of the time it doesn't call much attention to itself.
