"I really don't know how to talk about the LOTR without holding my nose."You can't possibly know how to talk about it with seeing it
"When I was in Russia I watched the TV sometimes, and as they ran the presentation clip several times, I couldn't keet buy wonder - what happened to the formerly formidable Australian movie art?"You might want to start your education on the subject with a geography lesson.
"I always kept it in high esteem, but the LOTR is bound to shake that faith."
It's kind of hard to take you sertiously when you can't even get the country of origin right.
"It looks like someone had set the goal for himself - to be more Hollywood than the Hollywood itself... and succeeded."
More mindless "Hollywood" bashing. Yawn.
"But on the other hand, there are thousands of films that I would rather discuss than the LOTR - so as I said before - I shall let AuPh celebrate a bit, as the only sad part about the LOTR is how many people went to see it. But perhaps we all need such a reminder from time to time - for if you simply keep watching Andrey Rublev and Rules of the Game you will never know the true state of decay in which the today's society exists."
It really is sad to see film makers pour their hearts and souls into a project and to have it succeed on every level.
"Maybe later I will have a chance to look at AuPh's screams of joy, but I suspect it will destroy the effect of my blood pressure medicine - and perhaps even force me to say what I feel."
Now I am feeling guilty. Honestly, I hope I didn't raise your blood preasure. I'm sure you are really a nice guy and I have no doubt about your passion for noncommercial movies. I have a hard time not kicking out soap boxes though.
